STORY: Agents are gathered in secret. It’s late at night, but this meeting could be anywhere thanks to the DC-3 in the background. Known as the Dakota, the DC-3 was the foundation of commercial aviation and a stalwart of the intelligence services. It was useful in the spy business because it could carry heavy loads, was extremely reliable, and could function on short, improvised runways. Many espionage meetings took place in remote locations thanks to the DC-3. It was something of a movie star as well, appearing in many films including Casablanca.
